SCHOOL DANCES
Major
Fundraising Opportunity!
Over the last few years, in response to a considerable
growth in the size of primary school dances, Dangerfields, with
our experience in the major secondary school dance market over
the last 20 years, are now pioneering new services, packages
and styles of shows.
These
innovative new packages have an emphasis on energetic, performance-based
shows with a high degree of audience participation and interaction.
Our on-stage dancers, wearing silly wigs and hats, and optional
costume characters organise activities, dance competitions and
lead the crowd in various method dances (for example YMCA, Macarena,
Nutbush, etc). Comments received from our clients describe these
new packages as being not unlike a 'Wiggles' or 'Hi-5' style
concert.
Suitable for parties for as few as 50 kids, to school
dances ranging from 100 to 800/900 or more kids. Currently,
an example of our most popular package for this type of event
is the JBL 1400 8-can rig with disco
fx truss, as pictured above.

Usually
organised along the lines of a junior session (preschool, grade
1, 2, 3), with a high degree of 'wiggles-style' interaction
and a senior session (grade 4, 5, 6, & 7) with a greater
emphasis on latest 'trendy top 40' music, schools are now recognising
this as a growing source of major fundraising with relatively
little effort (compared to even fetes, raffles or chocolate
drives).
By
using these new packages, rather than using just the usual 'dad'
DJ or local 'el-cheapo' DJ, our clients are finding that dance
sizes have been more than doubling. This, combined with collateral
sales of glow sticks, face masks, novelties, drinks, etc has
seen our clients reporting profits of up to $5,000-$7,000.
Some
schools are even organising parent-based events (eg sausage
sizzles) in conjunction with their dances, which further increase
profits and this also allows us to include some fun child-parent
interaction as well.
